Many times we get with an MLM company and don’t produce, but we stick with it.  We know that only 3% of people in the company are making money, but it still does not matter.  Here are 10 reasons to take a closer look at your company and possibly make a move.

Number 10.

Your company is so old that Moses was it’s first rep, the market is saturated and it is impossible for new reps to make any money.

Number 9.

While you were being recruited, your up line made you feel like a 5 star recruit.  Now that you have joined, they act like they are on the 10 most wanted list and you are the FBI

You wait a month, to get an auto ship product that you could have driven to the corner store in 5 minutes and gotten for half the price.

Google Voice

I’m not sure how long Google voice has been around, but I just recently started using it and I love it.  I’m sure that there are some who would say different, but for the price (free), I am sold.

I run several home businesses and I wanted a way to have people call me and get my business message as opposed to my personal message.  At the same time, I did not want people from my job calling and getting my business message.  Google Voice solved that problem for me and many more.

First, you can get new numbers without getting a new phone or new service.  My business cards have my Google voice number on them, not my real number, although both numbers ring the same phone.  You can program the Google voice number with a special message and if you know the numbers that will be calling, you can program each individual one to get a different message.

The messages can also be translated to text so that you can get them while you are busy, in a meeting, a movie or whatever. I intentionally do not answer so that my prospects will get to hear the voice mail message that I have prepared for them.  If you have a website, there is a widget that allows people to call you directly from your website.

In a lot of marketing circles today, there is a debate going on as to whether or not you can survive only marketing online. After years of trial and error, I am of the thought that it is extremely difficult, especially for people new to marketing online.

There are many challenges and there is tons of competition. To stand out from the crowd as a beginner can hurt the ego of many. Even the most experienced online marketers do not abandon their offline efforts.

With that said, although, I consider myself to be an online marketer, this technique is an off line technique. Now think about this, one of your goals is to get your message in front of as many people as you possibly can. So what I do is to meet them where they will be.

I mainly use this technique on the weekend, but it works during the week also. During the week, people are working and un happy and on the weekends, they just want to get away and relax.  So, where will they be doing that at? Wherever that is, that is where you need to be and get there before the crowd does.

My main place is at parks and lakes.  I get up with the sun, business cards in hand and a little scotch tape and I leave my mark all over the place.  I leave  them on the bathroom doors, on the benches, on the trash cans, and anywhere else that I think all of those people might see it.

My hope is that the people who are not interested will leave them alone and the ones who are will call.  Most of the time, cards will stay there and I do not have to try and hit the same places over and over a lot. I have software that allows me to design my own business cards and I send them off to get printed at gotprint.com and depending on how many I buy, they usually end up costing me around a penny a piece.  That’s not bad at all, so it doesn’t hurt dropping them and not knowing if that particular card will ever be seen.

Normally when you think of a lounge, you think of a bar type setting or somewhere to relax, but what is the TBA lounge. This is some wisdom that I received from one of my mentors that really enspired me. He was sharing some things that he had learned over the last 10 years or so in growing personally and in business. The concepts are general in nautre, but you can relate them to your business and to your development also to see where you stack up.

The first key to wealth is your attitude. It’s not just having a positive attitude, but your overall mindset and how you approach life.  Having control of your thoughts, behaviors and actions are extremely important. One recommened  resource is Jim Rhon’s ‘Success Principals’.  This resource was a life changer. The idea is to listen to the message over and over to literally burn the message of success into your mind.  It’s like with a professional athlete, they will do the same motions over and over and their muscles will begin to remember how to act in certain situations and they can almost perform in their sleep.

A lot of us don’t have the luxury of being around some one who has become successful. So  for us, this is the next best thing.  Here is a man who has done it and knows what it takes, so if you listen to him enough, then you start to think like he does. You start to act like he does and you start to do things that create wealth like he does.

The second thing is knowledge. This one reminds me of the saying that I had on my high school class ring. “Knowlegde is Power”.  How does this relate to building wealth though?  Well, first you have to know yourself.  You need to understand what your talents and your strengths are.  I look at Sharon and I like Jack Sprat and his wife from the old childhood fairly tale.  He could eat no fat and his wife could eat no lean and together, they licked the plate clean.

You may night have a partner in business with you, but still it is important to know what you are good at and what you are not good at.  If you are good at it, keep doing it.  If not, find someone who is good at it and let them do it.  You should always try and develop yourself, make yourself better and learn new skills, but don’t try to be someone else.  Be yourself, know yourself and do what you do best, while always continuing to learn new skills. As you gain skills, you become more valuable and therefore worth more to others.

The third and last thing is opportunity.  This refers to the vehicle that you are going to use to create wealth. There are many kids out there who are creating apps for our iphones and androids who are making a killing!  This is the vehicle that they have chosen to obtain their wealth.  Many of us use network marketing as our vehicle. It’s just a matter of exchanging your information,  talents and value for money.

A lot of people see opportunity and are afraid to take a chance because the idea is foreign to them.  They fear change and risk, so they miss out.  That happens a lot because people get in their minds, what they think and what they want and so when what they really needs flashes them in the face, they miss out.  Don’t let that be you. Put these 3 principles together and start building your path to wealth.

Probably the biggest challenge for any business is to get exposure. Sometimes that exposure comes at a price.  As a matter of fact most of the time it does. When you get a chance to get free exposure, you need to jump on it. Here is an idea that we stumbled upon and we want to share it.

First of all, we have the car sign.  It is not the typical car sign, but because we drive a jeep it is a tire cover sign. I have always felt like more people can see a sign if they are behind you than the ones on side of you, so we had this one custom made. Custom made for us is still not very much.  The tire cover came from Wal-mart and the art work was done in the local mall by a t-shirt artist. I can’t remember, but both together were under $100.

Now as for this new and neat little idea that we stumbled upon. There are always events happening, this one just happened to be a rodeo parade. I’m sure that you can find something in your town that will be similar.  Why did I choose a rodeo parade?  Because it was there.  I have not been to a rodeo in over 30 years and I did not go to this one either.

The entry fee to the parade was a whooping $20.00. What were the additional costs? Decorations… We had 3 poster boards that were about 30 cent each, again from our favorite store. Markers, glitter and some of that float paper we just happened to have around the house because Sharon loves crafts.  Our second biggest expense was the candy that we threw out during the parade. Over 1,000 pieces from Sam’s, less than $20.00.

It did not take a lot of time to get ready either.  As a matter of fact, we started on our car signs during the week, got to the parade site a few hours early and slapped them on the car. We were even working on the signs the morning of.  To us, it was not important to have the best decorated car, but just to get the publicity.  The candy got the kids attention and giving the candy to the kids got the parents attention.

There were TV cameras there and many people snapping theirown photos and taking their own movies.  I’d say for less than 50 bucks, it was well worth it!

Family is an acronym that stands for Faithful Alliance of Motivated Individuals Loving You.  Yes, that’s a bit different than most network marketing companies that I have ever heard of.   I have never heard of a company that is based upon a family concept.  The founder, David Ashby has established several weekly calls that are based upon the family concept and prayer.  Again, that is unique and seperates Team Fam from a lot of others.  In the crowded Network marketing arena, companies need to be able to set themselves apart.

It’s almost too simple….

If you are now in an MLM or have even been in an MLM, you have probably asked yourself this question.  Why do people drop out of MLMs?  The attrition ratio is something that you rarely hear talked about, but it is big.  Part of the problem is that most people have what I like to call a microwave society mentality.  People want it now, they want it fast and they want to do as little as possible to get it.

I don’t think any of us would mind having every thing that we ever wished for or dreamed of instantly supplied to us. It would be nice. What if there was a magic pill that we could swallow?  Well guess what there is a magic pill, only this magic pill has nothing to do with instant success.

The magic pill is called “belief”.  It is the belief that you are truly helping people and not hindering them.  It is the belief in  yourself that you can actually accomplish your goals and have that success that you desire.  Not necessarily instant success, but that you can have success.

I have seen it time and time again. Those with the belief tend to be successful. Think about this. Your body language speaks to others.  If you don’t believe in yourself and/or your products, people can sense that.  So, if you plan to succeed you need to take full advantage of your most powerful weapon, belief.

It’s hard enough building a home business, but more discouraging when the old ones are quitting faster than you can bring new ones on board. Retention is doing what is necessary to keep as many people as possible who join your team to stay on your team.

The key to retention is all about your community. How do you serve the people on your team, how do you build a family, how do you promote togetherness.  You need to keep a focus on constantly helping them. That means doing more than just sending out an email every now and then, but picking up the phone. People want to be a part of something big and they want to belong.

There are many ways that you can create this type of environment.  You can use physical events where you actually get together. There are conference calls, webinars, skype chats and I’m sure that there are many others that you can think of.

The next part of this is duplication.  Duplication is providing a map that people can follow along with a little interaction. You need to help guide new people so that they will be able to follow the map correctly.  Again, one of the main keys to stress in duplication is getting on the phone with new prospects.

One of the best network marketers that I have ever heard of built a business and over 20 years later, he is still making more that $10,000 a month.  He did it by using the same concepts that we are discussing here.  Building small communities and connecting with his people personally.

Even if you are a strong marketer, the chances are that most of the people that you are bringing aboard are not. You must help them in order to create more retention and duplication.

All of us had to start somewhere.  Even the most wildly successful people were once beginners.  Even the great Michael Jordan had a first time that he picked up a basketball. Somewhere Jack Nickalus and Tiger Woods picked up golf clubs for the first time.  They were not always the accomplished greats that we know them as today.

All of that is to say, don’t worry if you are not an expert now.  One day, with a little hard work, you can be. The first step to getting there is to make a decision. There will always be obstacles, challenges, bumps and brusies along the way. I am sure that those three guys wanted to quit at one time, but they all had their minds made up that there was no stopping and that they were going to succeed.  The same must be true with you and your business.  You must decide to succed and not let the challenges that  you will face make you turn around and give up.

Things don’t happen by accident, you have to make a decision, make a plan and stick with it. A lot of times, this will be the deciding factor in your success.

The second factor is persistance.  You must develop an attitude that says, I will not stop until I succeed.  A lot of people just set some type of a time line and then get out.  For example, I will try it for three months and see how it works. That’s not the attitude that you want to develop.  You want to be committed until you make it work. You will be challenged constantly, if you persist you will succeed. Failure is always there, but you must persist until you succeed.

The last thing is not to focus on where you are or where you have been.  You can learn from your mistakes, but you can’t change them. Focusing on the past, will only hold you back.  You want to focus on the person that you want to be and where you want to go.

As the famous saying goes, it is your attitude, that will determine your altitude in life.  Focus on your attitude, believe in yourself and keep it positive.
